PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wiping device which can wipe a foreign matter on a forming surface with a discharge port formed by a wiping band without moving a long discharge part for discharging a liquid droplet from the discharge port in a longitudinal direction.SOLUTION: A wiping device includes: a holding part which holds a wiping band so as to face to a forming surface with a discharge port formed of a long discharge part for discharging a liquid droplet from the discharge port from one end side to the other end side of a longitudinal direction; and a nip forming part which forms a nip by interposing the wiping band with the forming surface and moves from the one end side to the other end side of the longitudinal direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
