PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron which can be handled easily, wherein a temperature of the base is hard to decrease even if the temperature of the base for ironing is same as that of conventional irons, and duration period of a steam can be extended. SOLUTION: An iron is composed of three layers comprising a first base 21 having a heater inside for storing heat, a second base 23 having an ironing surface and a heat resistant layer 22 therebetween. A heat resistance of the heat resistant layer is at least higher than that of the first base 21. Therefore when the first base 21 is heated by the heater, a temperature difference is caused between the first base 21 providing heat and the second base 23 radiating heat because of the heat resistant layer 22 inserted between the first base 21 and the second base 23. Thereby a temperature of the first base 21 can be raised by the temperature difference.
