PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably execute gas injection from a plug for stirring molten metal made of closed quality refractory without increasing the gas pressure regardless of thermal expansion at the using time. SOLUTION: The gas injecting hole in the plug made of the closed quality refractory is arranged as an annular slit 4 over from the bottom part to the upper surface, and also, radiating slits 7 intermittently in the axial direction to the annular slit 4 are disposed so as to be communicated with the annular slit 4. Particularly, the radiating slits 7 at the lower part side to the pitch angle position having 1/2 to the radiating slits 7 at the upper part side of the plug, are disposed. The gas injection is almost continuously, uniformly and safely executed so that the height positions in the height direction at the lower part of the radiating slit 7 at the upper part side and at the upper part of the radiating slit 5 at the lower part side, are overlapped.
