<p>An information providing method and an information providing system, capable of purchasing commodities more safely on the network, and an apparatus for constructing the system. A user (101) inputs an instruction of a commodity desired to purchase and a search, in view of a homepage provided by an information provider (102). The information provider (102) receives the information specifying the user and the commodity and the search instructing information, and stores the individual elements of information, correlated with one another, in a database (102b). A search instructing mechanism (102e) sends a search agent (105a) on the basis of the received search instruction to a real shop (104) to search the commodity requested. The search agent (105a) reports the search result to the result decision mechanism (102e). The information of the search result is then transmitted from the information provider (102) over the Internet (103) to the user (101) for a decision by the user (101) on whether the commodity is to be purchased or not.</p> |
