The invention relates to a circuit arrangement for operating a semiconductor light source, comprising connection terminals for connecting a power supply, rectifier means, input filter means, a converter comprising a control circuit, and output terminals for connecting the semiconductor light source. According to the invention, the part of the circuit arrangement situated between connection terminals for connecting a power supply and the rectifier means is free of capacitive means. The invention also relates to a signal light provided with such a circuit arrangement.
