PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printer for which maintenance of a line head can be simplified without sophisticating an installation mechanism of a maintenance unit. SOLUTION: This printer has coupling parts 40, 42a and 42b for coupling the maintenance unit(MU) 60 and a platen 30, and a drive motor which drives the coupling parts 40, 42a and 42b so as to make the MU 60 or the platen 30 disposed in positions (upper parts of eccentric rollers 80a and 80b) facing the line head 25. The platen 30 and the MU 60 are coupled together by the coupling parts 40, 42a and 42b in order to enable the platen 30 and the MU 60 to be moved by a set of the drive motors. Consequently, a simple driving mechanism allows the MU 60 to be disposed in the position facing the line head 25 during the maintenance. |
