PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a snap-fit mechanism capable of easily engaging when fixing a part similarly with a conventional one and capable of preventing unexpected release of engagement after fixing the part. SOLUTION: An engaging claw 7 having an engaging inclined surface 11 is provided in tip of an elastic tongue piece 5 of the snap-fit mechanism 1. The most upper end 11b of the engaging inclined surface 11 is positioned between the outside surface 5a of the elastic tongue piece 5 and the longitudinal center line C of the elastic tongue piece 5. Tip of the elastic tongue piece 5 is provided with an engagement holding inclined surface 13. The engagement holding inclined surface 13 gives an outward load to the elastic tongue piece 5 when an unexpected load is applied, and reduces inside elastic deformation quantity of the elastic tongue piece 5 to prevent release of engagement.
