PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pivoting mechanism which can effectively prevent a shaft from being released from a journaling attitude of journaling the shaft on each journaling member, without the application of unnecessary working to the shaft and each journaling member, and without the use of a dedicated anti-coming-off member. SOLUTION: The movement of a rotating shaft 9 and a damper shaft 72 (cap member 74), which are journaled on first and second brackets 5 and 8, along the axial direction is regulated by a regulating piece 33K which is provided in an upper fixing part 33 as a component of a door 2, so that the release from the journaling attitude can be prevented.
