PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ventilation tower for a building, capable of effectively imparting a cool feeling by ventilation, while avoiding intrusion of rainwater. SOLUTION: This ventilation tower 10 for the building is composed of a body cylindrical part 20 having a hollow part 19 communicating with a ceiling exhaust port 18 opening on a ceiling surface 16 and projecting above a roof part 12, and a lateral stripe-shaped cylindrical part 22 continuously arranged in an upper end part of the body cylindrical part 20 and formed by laminating a frame member 21 annularly arranged along a cross-sectional shape of the body cylindrical part 20 at an interval. A top light member 23 is arranged inside the lateral stripe-shaped cylindrical part 22 for opening and closing the ventilation tower 20 by lifting between the upper end parts of the lateral stripe-shaped cylindrical part 22 from a state of blocking up an upper end opening 20a of the body cylindrical part 20. When opening the ventilation tower 10 by lifting the top light member 23, wind is made to go through in the lateral direction via an interval part 22a of the lateral stripe-shaped cylindrical part 22 between the body cylindrical parts 20 under the top light member 23.
