<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power saving control method, capable of improving power saving performance, and an image forming device. <P>SOLUTION: The method comprises setting the minimum time unit (tick) of an operating system in a low-power state where an operating system is operated at a power lower than in a general power state where it is operated at a general power, the minimum time unit (tick) longer than the minimum time unit (tick) corresponding to the general power state.
