An apparatus for scattering lubricating oil is provided to improve lubrication performance of the oil scattering apparatus by forming a groove in an oil separator such that lubricating oil remains in the groove. An oil scattering apparatus is used to scatter lubricating oil in a compressor of an air conditioner. The oil scattering apparatus comprises an oil separator,(301) a plate(303) and a valve(305). The oil separator is used to scatter lubricating oil. The plate makes contact with the oil separator. At least one oil hole(307) is formed in the plate. The oil hole is selectively open/closed by the valve according to rotation of the oil separator. The oil separator is formed with a groove to allow the lubricating oil to be stayed in the groove. The lubricating oil sequentially passes through the oil separator, the plate and the valve.
