摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a misfire determination device for avoiding erroneous determination of misfire resulting from a resonance phenomenon between an engine and a transmission. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The misfire determination device determines that there is a possibility that a misfire has occurred, when a rotation fluctuation amount ΔNE of the engine 1 exceeds a predetermined threshold value N1. It executes misfire determining operation in accordance with a first rotation fluctuation pattern in which a change in the rotation fluctuation is specified to be relatively greater, when a lock-up clutch is in the condition of non-lock-up. It executes misfire determining operation in accordance with a second rotation fluctuation pattern in which the change in the rotation fluctuation is specified to be smaller than in the first rotation fluctuation pattern, when the lock-up clutch is in the condition of lock-up. Thus, it can avoid the erroneous determination of misfire even in the condition that a resonance phenomenon occurs between the engine 1 and the automatic transmission 50.
