<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adjustable landing device capable of being employed as a nose side landing device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A landing device 100 includes a shock strut assembly 106 and a linkage member 124 coupled to an aircraft. Preferably, the shock strut assembly 106 and the linkage member 124 are oriented or angled relative to one another in a non-parallel relationship. Actuation of the linkage member 124 actuates the shock strut assembly 106 from a contracted state to an extended state or vice-versa. In addition, the orientation of the linkage member relative to the shock strut assembly 106 permits it to move the shock strut assembly 106 to the contracted state during retraction of the wheel assembly 118.
