PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an opening/closing member capable of setting an appropriate mask period for an initial motion and effectively avoiding erroneous reversal or erroneous halting, even when a driving source is under a heavy load.SOLUTION: A control device for an opening/closing member includes a drive mechanism having a motor that serves as a driving source for opening/closing an opening/closing member, and a control unit that makes the drive mechanism perform a first operation when opening the opening/closing member and a second operation when closing the opening/closing member. The control unit determines whether there is a foreign object trapped between a member around the opening/closing member and the opening/closing member or a door, based on a change in an operation state of the drive mechanism. If it is judged there is a trapped object, the control unit performs interruption processing for interrupting operation of the drive mechanism. During a mask period for an initial motion, which is a period from starting time of the motor and time when revolution speed of the motor reaches a stable state, the control device for an opening/closing member is controlled so as not to make determination on whether there is a trapped foreign object. The mask period for an initial motion is changed to suit an operation load on the motor.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
