1. A method, comprising:
determining a target fuel amount required to satisfy a net torque demand in an engine in response to a target torque and an engine speed of an engine; determining a base air mass flow value to the engine in response to the target fuel amount, wherein the base air mass flow value is based on at least one of a stoichiometric air-to-fuel ratio and target ignition timing; determining an adjusted base air mass flow value that is adjusted in response to at least one of:
a first air mass flow adjustment determined from a lambda efficiency table as a function of a deviation of a current air-to-fuel ratio from the stoichiometric air-to-fuel ratio and of an oxygen amount in an exhaust gas, anda second air mass flow adjustment determined from an ignition timing efficiency table as a function of an engine speed and an ignition timing deviation; and determining an air mass flow command for operation of the engine from the adjusted base air mass flow value and a feedback control adjustment based on a deviation of an actual torque output from a target torque output. |
