PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar storage facility utilized as a storage facility in which a box-type transport container can be placed on a plane surface to be stored.SOLUTION: A planar storage facility comprises: a stored article placing plane 1; a loading conveyor 12, an unloading conveyor 13; and a carry-in/out device 2 which lifts and conveys a stored article C between any position on the stored article placing plane 1 and the loading conveyor 12 and between any position on the stored article placing plane 1 and the unloading conveyor 13. The entire stored article placing plane 1 is divided into a plurality of rectangular small areas A1-B3, stored article placing points Cp are arranged in a grid pattern in each small area, and a loading reference point A1p-B3p is set corresponding to one corner of each small area. The carry-in/out device 2 is controlled so that the stored article for loading is conveyed and put down to the stored article placing point Cp selected based on distance between the loading reference point A1p-B3p and vacant stored article placing points Cp in the selected small area when doing the loading operation.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
