The present invention restores an extension unit from a temporary failure and enables the extension unit to communicate. Provided is a wireless relay system equipped with a base unit and a plurality of extension units. The plurality of extension units are connected to a communication path at an order lower than that of the base unit. Each of the plurality of extension units is provided with a switching unit, a communication unit, a determination unit, and a switching control unit. The switching unit switches between an ordinary connection for connecting the base unit or a high-order extension unit and a low-order extension unit via the communication unit, and a bypass connection for connecting the base unit or high-order extension unit and the low-order extension unit without being routed via the communication unit. The communication unit processes a transmitted/received signal to thereby communicate. The determination unit determines whether the communication unit is functioning normally or abnormally. The switching control unit switches the switching unit to the bypass connection when the determination unit determines that the communication unit is functioning abnormally. The determination part reactivates the communication unit after the switching unit is switched to the ordinary connection, and determines whether the communication unit is functioning normally or abnormally. |
