PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording head capable of preventing bubbles taken in a channel through an ink ejection port, condensed materials of ink or foreign matters from staying in the channel, stabilizing the temperature of ink in the channel, and demonstrating the ejecting performance of stable ink drops even during a long and continuous printing. SOLUTION: The ink jet recording head 20 comprises ink reservoirs 6, 7 at both end sides of a partition wall 1 constituting the channel 2, an ink reservoir 6 having an ink supply port 8 for supplying ink to the channel 2, and an ink reservoir 7 having an ink recovering port 9 for recovering ink in the channel. When the total area of the opening part of the ink supply ports 8 is represented by Sa, the total area of the opening part of the ink recovering parts 9 is represented by Sb, and the total area of the cross section where the channel 2 is cut at a flat face perpendicular to its longitudinal direction is represented by Qs, the relationship 0.5<=Sa/Qs<=2.5, 0.5<=Sb/Qs<=2.5 is satisfied.
