METHOD FOR REMOVING RESIDUAL STRESS OF WELDING PORTION IN STRUCTURE

PURPOSE: A method for removing the residual extension stress of a welded portion in a structure using an ultrasonic peening process is provided to quickly remove residual extension stress from a portion which requires uniform residual compression stress. CONSTITUTION: Thick and uneven weld beads are eliminated from a welded portion(100). The residual stress is measured and evaluated after welding(300). Compressive stress is formed on the surface of the welded portion using an ultrasonic wave peening process(400). The residual stress is measured again, and residual stress state is evaluated(500). The surface of the measured portion is ground when the residual stress of the welded portion is measured and evaluated(200).
