A steel sheet plated by hot dipping with alloyed zinc which has excellent adhesion to the base steel sheet. The steel sheet plated by hot dipping with alloyed zinc is characterized by having recesses/protrusions having a depth of at least 10 nm at a pitch of 0.5 mum or shorter at the interface between the alloyed-zinc deposit layer formed by hot dipping and the base steel sheet on which the alloyed- zinc deposit layer is formed by hot dipping, the number of the recesses/protrusions being at least one per interface length of 5 mum.
