In order to reduce the cycle times and improve the production quality of the machines designed to extrude parisons and subsequently obtain from them thermoplastic articles using the blowing technique, the invention envisages that, during the step for production of the parison (2), the latter is retained not only at the top by the production die (1) but also at the bottom end by dynamic means (5) which accompany it during the descending movement so that the parison does not swing owing to the effect of the air currents produced for example during the movement of the moulds (3) and the counter-moulds (103) and/or other operative parts of the machine which are thus able to move more quickly than occurs in the prior art, with the advantages arising from the reduction in the idle time of the machines in question. <IMAGE>
