<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spread spectrum communications apparatus which is capable of easily performing handover between different frequencies. <P>SOLUTION: The spread spectrum communications apparatus comprises a radio frequency receiver 25 which intermittently receives compressed frames when in a compression mode, a timing/inverse spread unit 51 which detects a first search code and a second search code during non-transmission time in the compression mode period, a detection determining unit 52 which judges those search codes by a predetermined criterion, a controller 21E which controls handover between different frequencies, by establishing synchronization with another frequency carrier, based on the first search code and the second search code detected by the detection determining unit 52. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
