<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for a sound absorbing material of a working machine for achieving satisfactory sound absorbing characteristics and excellent robustness against friction while ensuring thermal insulation and water repellency sufficiently. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method for the sound absorbing material of the working machine provided with a sound absorbing raw material formed of the glass wool of a glass fiber bulk material and a skin material covering the sound absorbing raw material, a plurality of glass fibers are knitted like a mesh to form the glass cloth first in a glass cloth forming step A10, next the glass cloth formed in the glass cloth forming step A10 is impregnated with an acrylic emulsion to form a filling layer in a filling layer forming step A20, and then a water repellent layer is formed on an outer side of the filling layer in a water repellent layer forming step A30.
