PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a furniture overturning preventing method and structure for surely preventing furniture from being overturned in the event of earthquake.SOLUTION: A highly-extensive tape 11 formed by a flatly-woven polyester fiber is adhered continuously from a furniture 41 to a structure surface 51 adjacent to the furniture 41 in such a manner that the tape forms L-shape via a furniture-side fixing part 15 formed by a furniture-side fixing means 22 and a structure-side fixing part 16 formed by a structure-side fixing means 32. In the event of earthquake, the highly-extensive tape 11 is linearized according to a relative displacement generated between the furniture 41 and the structure surface 51 and the relative displacement between the furniture-side fixing part 15 and the structure-side fixing part 16 is set within several centimeters or less, thereby preventing destruction of the furniture 41 and/or the structure surface 51, destruction of the furniture-side fixing means 22 and/or structure-side fixing means 32, and falling-down of the furniture 41 and contents therein from being projecting out.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
