PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cutter which offers a consistent shape of a cutting surface and ease of use.SOLUTION: An optical fiber cutter 10A includes; a fiber holder 20 for holding an optical fiber 12; a cutter main body 13 on which the fiber holder 20 is mounted; clamping members 14-17 which are movably mounted on the cutter main body 13 in a direction that crosses an axial direction of the optical fiber 12 to clamp the optical fiber 12; an anvil 18 which is movably mounted on the cutter main body in a direction that crosses the axial direction of the optical fiber 12 and is pressed against the optical fiber 12 to bend the same; and a blade member 19 provided on the cutter main body 13 to scratch the optical fiber 12. The optical fiber cutter 10A has an interlocking mechanism which allows installation of the fiber holder 20 on the cutter main body 13 to automatically trigger the clamping action on the optical fiber 12 by the clamping members 14, 15 and the pressing action against the optical fiber 12 by the anvil 18. |
