PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveyance mechanism that includes sheet sensors of an actuator system, and a technology that provides excellent productivity and a suitable sheet interval.SOLUTION: A printer 100 comprises sheet sensors 71 to 74 of an actuator system on a sheet conveyance path 11. The printer 100 has a normal mode and a silent mode as operation modes, and stores a sheet interval L1 in the normal mode and a sheet interval L2 in the silent mode. The silent mode has a sheet conveyance speed slower than that of the normal mode. When the return time of the actuators of the sheet sensors 71 to 74 is T, the peripheral speed of conveyance rollers in the normal mode is V1, and the peripheral speed of the conveyance rollers in the silent mode is V2, the sheet intervals L1 and L2 satisfy all the following formulas: L1/V1≥T; L2/V2≥T; and L2/V1<T.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
