摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine controller capable of stopping an engine while improving exhaust emission and suppressing degradation in fuel economy if an engine stop request is issued during engine start accompanied by a fuel injection increase control.SOLUTION: An engine controller comprises: engine stop request detection unit 90 detecting a stop request to stop an engine 12; a fuel injection control unit 92 controlling fuel injection so that time at which a catalyst atmosphere turns into a stoichiometric state is earlier than time during an increase control if the stop request to stop the engine 12 is detected; and an engine stop unit 94 stopping the engine 12 after the catalyst atmosphere turns into the stoichiometric state. In this way, before stopping the engine 12, the catalyst atmosphere is returned to the stoichiometric state, thereby improving exhaust emission. Furthermore, by putting ahead the time of returning the catalyst atmosphere to the stoichiometric state, operation time of the engine is shorter to suppress degradation in fuel consumption.
