PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide improved alternative methods for synthesizing cytosine nucleoside analogues useful as anticancer and/or antiviral products, intermediate products or prodrugs thereof by reducing the conventional multistep synthesis process, increasing the total yield, reducing the side reaction and byproduct content, thereby improving the purity and quality of the products.SOLUTION: The method for synthesizing cytosine nucleoside analogs uses a nucleoside phosphorylase enzyme, in particular, pyrimidine nucleoside phosphorylase (PyNPs), or a mixture of purine nucleoside phosphorylase (PNPs) and PyNPs.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
