In the present invention, a license server is managed at a vender site in order to achieve proper license management by preventing unauthorized operations from being performed at user sites as well as to simplify settings for communication with clients while ensuring security. When a license is granted to a client, a license server disposed at a vender site transmits a license addressed to the client to a repeater via a communication channel, the client disposed at a user site transmits a license request addressed to the license server to the repeater before executing predetermined software which requires the license, and the repeater disposed at the user site transfers the communication between the license server and the client via the communication channel. |
