[Problem] To provide a stator core retention means which avoids damage to the tip of a wedge guide shaft and which, if there are individual differences in the stator core laminate thickness, forestalls insulation failure due to a coil wire shifting outside of a slot insulating paper even. [Solution] A stator core retention means (20) is equipped with: a collision avoidance gap (80) which enables avoiding collisions between the tip (13) of a wedge guide shaft (12) and a stator core (90); a loose fitting gap (81) which accommodates the individual differences in laminate thickness of a stator core; and a gap reducing means (50) which reduces the loose fitting gap. By making the dimension of the collision avoidance gap smaller than the outer diameter of the coil wire and reducing the loose fitting gap with the gap reducing means, the stator core is prevented from rising. In this way, damage is avoided to the tip (13) of the wedge guide shaft and, even given individual differences between stator cores, part of the coil wire slides into the collision avoidance gap, thus forestalling insulation failure. |
