In order to increase a frame rate, an image acquisition device (1) according to the present invention comprises: an illumination light generation unit (3) for generating a plurality of illumination light beams (L1, L2) that have mutually linearly-independent patterns by modulating the intensity of the light emitted from a light source (2) and include modulated illumination light and non-modulated illumination light; an illumination optical system (4) for irradiating the different positions of a sample (A) with the plurality of illumination light beams generated by the illumination light generation unit; a photodetection unit (5) for outputting a synthesized signal by detecting synthesized signal light formed by synthesizing the signal light beams that are generated at the plurality of illumination positions irradiated with the illumination light beams by the illumination optical system; and a demodulation unit (6) for separating a modulated local signal corresponding to modulated illumination light from the synthesized signal output from the photodetection unit by integrating the product of a demodulated signal corresponding to the modulated illumination light and the synthesized signal over a time interval, and separating a non-modulated local signal corresponding to non-modulated illumination light by subtracting the sum of modulated local signals from the integral of the synthesized signal over the time interval. |
