The purpose of the present invention is to make it possible, regardless of the presence of a stopping-possible area, to stop a vehicle at an appropriate stopping position given the condition of the vehicle and the condition around the vehicle. An automatic driving device 1 is provided with a travel potential determination unit 12, a stopping position specification unit 13, and an automatic driving control unit 14. On the basis of the vehicle position, map information, and a remaining drive resource amount, the travel potential determination unit 12 determines a travelable range 33 over which travel is possible after a vehicle passes a handover point A. The stopping position specification unit 13 specifies a stopping position at which the vehicle should stop that is within the travelable range 33. If a determination is made that handover is impossible, the automatic driving control unit 14 continues automatic driving until the vehicle stops at a stopping position. |
