Method in which a vehicle driver enters a point on a route or a time before a destination is to be reached at which a mobile phone will automatically dial an entered number. When the vehicle reaches the point or the navigation unit calculates the time before arrival to be that chosen at which a call is to be made the mobile phone automatically dials the number and/ or informs the driver. An Independent claim is made for a device comprising mobile phone (6), navigation device (3), memory (4) and position finder in which a destination route can be input with a time before arrival or a point on the route at which a number will be automatically dialed.
