PURPOSE: A membrane-electrode assembly for a fuel cell is provided to secure a flow path formed in a separator while preventing the deterioration of an electrolyte film. CONSTITUTION: A membrane-electrode assembly(20) comprises an electrolyte membrane(21), a microporous layer(23,24) arranged at both sides of the electrolyte membrane, a backing layer(25,26) arranged on the microporous layers, and an edge-protective layer(71) arranged at the edge of the electrolyte film. The end part of the microporous layer is positioned at the inner side than the end part of a support layer.
