PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellular phone and a manner mode control method for eliminating troublesomeness in an operation for manner mode setting. SOLUTION: The cellular phone has a manner mode for setting up not to sound ringing tones when a user gets on a train and for setting up to sound ringing tones after the user gets off the train. The phone comprises a means for receiving a decision criteria time list from a network server for a neighboring area including a section of location information from a base station according to the location information transmitted from the base station to the phone, and for selecting a decision criteria time applicable to the section of the location information to set it up to a manner mode control circuit unit in the phone, and for turning on the manner mode if the change of a receiving channel occurs within the decision criteria time when the phone moves to the other base station adjacent to one base station.
