PURPOSE: A device and method for processing channel state information in a communication system are provided to reduce a measuring time interval which previously sets the time consumed by measuring channel state information in a receiving unit by reducing the number of samples. CONSTITUTION: A range determining unit(231) determines a sampling range which is previously set for estimating a channel state in a subframe. A channel sampler(230) extracts samples in channels within a sampling range. A state measuring unit(243) measures channel state information in the samples. A rate calculating unit(235) calculates sampling rate with an interval between the samples in channels of the sampling range.
