摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new luminescent material which emits light by deformation caused by externally imposed mechanical forces such as friction, shear, and impact. <P>SOLUTION: The luminescent material contains mixed crystals in which more than one crystal structure exists such as a crystal having at least two or more crystal structures out of zinc oxide sulfide of a wurtzite mineral structure, zinc sulfide of a cubic crystal or a wurtzite mineral structure and manganese oxide of a cubic crystal and a crystal expressed by general formulas: (Ca<SB>1-x</SB>A'<SB>x</SB>)<SB>y</SB>Ba<SB>1-y</SB>TiO<SB>3</SB>, (Mg<SB>1-x</SB>A'<SB>x</SB>)<SB>y</SB>Ba<SB>1-y</SB>TiO<SB>3</SB>, and (Sr<SB>1-x</SB>A'<SB>x</SB>)yBa<SB>1-y</SB>TiO<SB>3</SB>(0.0001&le;x&le;0.05: 0.005&le;y&le;0.995: A' is a rare earth element selected from the group consisting of Dy, La, Gd, Ce, Sm, Y, Nd, Tb, Pr, and Er). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
