PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently discharge heat from an LED light bulb outward of the LED light bulb with a lamp socket having a large planar part extending outward of the diameter of the socket on the other end side of the hollow cylindrical socket with one side opened.

SOLUTION: The socket for an illumination fixture is provided with an electrode, and in the socket having a cylindrical electric insulator to protect the periphery of a lamp 3 for illumination to be inserted, the cylindrical electric insulator 1 is provided with a flange type extension part 4 in which one part of a cylindrical shape is extended outside of the cylinder.
