PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zinc base plated steel sheet for the back cover of a display device using an inexpensive thin display panel having excellent application properties. SOLUTION: In such a manner that the face to form into the outer face of a back cover in a display device using a thin display panel has required performance, the surface of a zinc base plated steel sheet is provided with a colored organic treatment film single layer or double layers of an inorganic-organic composite treatment film and a colored organic treatment film or double layers of a Zn-Co plating film and a colored organic treatment film or three layers of a Zn-Co plating film, an inorganic-organic composite treatment film and a colored organic treatment film, and, if required, the surface thereof is provided with a clear organic treatment film. Also, in such a manner that the face to form into the inner face of the back cover has required performance, the surface of the zinc base plated steel sheet is provided with an inorganic-organic composite treatment film single layer or double layers of a Zn-Co plating film and an inorganic-organic composite treatment film.
