PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of giving at least limited steering assistant force to a steering system even when feeding of electric power to an electric motor through a power source relay circuit becomes impossible. SOLUTION: The electric power steering device is provided with the electric motor 12 for giving the steering assistant force to the steering system; a motor drive circuit 18 for driving the electric motor 12; the power source relay circuit 30 for feeding the electric power from a battery 36 to a motor drive circuit 18; and a pre-charge circuit 40 for charging a capacitor for stabilizing power source before closing the power source relay circuit 30. When abnormality of feeding of the electric power to the electric motor 12 through the power source relay circuit 30 is detected, a switch circuit 43 of the pre-charge circuit 40 is made to the closed state and the power source from the battery 36 is fed to a motor drive circuit 18 through the pre-charge circuit 40.
