PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a mobile terminal device or an on-vehicle device to acquire required data without uselessly occupying a communication band in a communication system. SOLUTION: In the communication system 1, a navigation device 10 is configured so as to perform one-to-one communication to a portable telephone set 30. Then, short distance radio communication modules 18 and 36 provided in at least one of the portable telephone set 30 and the navigation device 10 transmit at least a part of data stored in their own storage part. Also, the short distance radio communication modules 18 and 36 provided in the other of the portable telephone set 30 and the navigation device 10 receive the transmitted data. Thus, since one device can acquire data by performing the one-to-one communication with the other device, the required data can be acquired from the outside without uselessly occupying the communication band in a wide area communication network.
