PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform color gamut mapping utilizing a versatile color mapping space and to highly accurately perform the color gamut mapping. SOLUTION: An image processor is equipped with: a signal acquiring means 1 for acquiring a signal of a color space having perceptive features; a first conversion means 2 for converting the color space of the signal obtained through the signal acquiring means 12 into a color mapping space for making color coordinates in a first color reproduction region correspond to color coordinates in a second color reproduction region; a signal specifying means 2 for specifying a color signal corresponding to the signal obtained through the signal acquiring means 1 in the color mapping space; and a second conversion means 4 for converting the color signal specified by the signal specifying means 3 into a signal of the same color space as the signal acquired by the signal acquiring means 1, wherein the color mapping space constitutes a space with an equal lightness of color/equal hue plane.
