PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device displaying a composite image containing a plurality of input images, in which the input image included in the composite image is improved. SOLUTION: The image display device displays an image stored in a frame memory 144. The image display device is equipped with a first image input section where a first image is supplied and a second image input section where a synchronizing signal and a second image are supplied. The second image is input in synchronization with the synchronization signal. The image display device is also equipped with a composite image generating section and an input image switching section that switches between the first image and the second image and inputs the switched image to the composite image generating section. The composite image generating section generates a composite image containing the first and second images by storing the input first and second images into different positions of the frame memory.
