A gas engine including an ignition for igniting a gaseous fuel-air mixture, particularly, a gas auto-engine is provided to prevent early abrasion by restraining an ignition source of the ignition from being exposed to a corrosion condition. A mixture compression gas auto engine includes at least one ignition(2). The ignition ignites a gaseous fuel-air mixture. The mixture compression gas auto engine ignites the gaseous fuel-air mixture. The ignition includes a heating element(5) having a high-pressure gas intake part(4) and a heat shield(6). Gas fuel provided through the high-pressure gas intake part proscribes the volume(7) which actively provides a self ignition temperature of the heating element for igniting highly compressed gas fuel in the domain of the heating element.
