The system has a two-piece cam shaft receiver with a bearing saddle (9) in a lower part and a bearing cover (8) in an upper part. A cam shaft (1) with two bearing points (3) is supported in the bearing saddle and cover. The saddle and cover are arranged on bearing half shells (5) such that the shells are supported at the saddle and/or cover and the shells together with the bearing points form a radial friction bearing. An independent claim is also included for a method for mounting a system for controlling a charge cycle in an internal combustion engine of a motor vehicle.
