摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shim thickness estimation method with a small number of measurement steps.SOLUTION: Provided is a shim thickness estimation method on a bearing device (20) having a shaft (21) with a step. A spacer (2) is sandwiched by a housing (25) and a case body (26). A thickness increase measurement unit (1) for measuring a thickness increase amount and a load, while increasing thickness, is disposed between the housing (25) and a bearing (22). While increasing thickness of the thickness increase measurement unit (1), and applying a load to a direction of separating the housing(25) and the bearing (22), thickness and load of the thickness increase measurement unit (1) are measured. Then, on the basis of a thickness increase amount T13 of the thickness increase measurement unit (1) in a state in which, the measured load is in a proper load range, thickness L1 of the spacer (2), and thickness T0 of the thickness increase measurement unit when thickness of the thickness increase measurement unit is started to be increased, proper shim thickness T3 of a shim, is estimated.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
