1. A method for operating a computing device to receive a network service, the method being implemented by one or more processors and comprising:
launching an application that is linked to operate with the network service, wherein launching the application includes executing instructions for initiating the application on the computing device, and for communicating with one or more servers of the network service; receiving, from communicating with the one or more servers of the network service, instructions for implementing new functionality for the network service; storing new functionality information that is accessible to initiate the computing device in executing the instructions for implementing the new functionality when the application is re-launched; implementing one or more processes to monitor multiple types of application failures; in response to detecting an application failure of one of the multiple types of application failures, storing a data set which is indicative of the application failure; upon the application being initiated to re-launched, determining, based at least in part on the stored data set, that the application previously failed upon the instructions for implementing the new functionality being executed; and re-launching the application without accessing the new functionality information, so that the new functionality is not triggered. |
