PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the speedup and accuracy without depending on an examiner when the strength degradation of a synthetic fiber safety rope due to a natural exposure is examined by a fading degree of a surface color.SOLUTION: A method and device can quickly and accurately understand a fading degree of a surface color by using specific index data capable of adequately expressing the fading degree of the surface color by the color image photographing in a state where lighting, a background, and photographing setting conditions of camera are controlled and the color analysis by computer processing.
