In order to extract a product that has a factor as a product which is likely to sell during a certain period but the sales of which during said period has not increased under current circumstances: a sales increase period for each product is specified by using purchase history information in which the date and time each product was purchased are stored; a product having a plurality of sales increase periods is specified as a comparative product; a product whose sales increase period partially matches those of the comparative product is extracted as a recommended product; and, for the extracted recommended product, a period that is one of the sales increase periods of the corresponding comparative product but is not a sales increase period of said recommended product is set as a recommendation period of said recommended product.
