<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a water-based pigment dispersion excellent in high productivity and shelf stability through a membrane treatment method the water-based pigment dispersion for inkjet recording obtained by the method, and an aqueous ink for inkjet recording containing the same. <P>SOLUTION: [1] The method for manufacturing the water-based pigment dispersion comprises: adding an electrolyte to an aqueous dispersion that has a solid concentration of ≥15 wt.% and is obtained by carrying out a dispersion treatment of a mixture at least comprising a pigment, a water-insoluble polymer and water; and, while keeping the conductivity of the aqueous dispersion within a range of [conductivity of the aqueous dispersion before membrane treatment ±25%], and removing ≥5 wt.% of the amount of the water-insoluble polymer not adsorbed by the pigment before the membrane treatment.
